been a little but since the last blog post....like almost about a month. but! any! way! what i wanna talk abt today is how im beginning to learn japanese. i have this friend thats also studying japanese rn bc hes an ambassador for this country iirc, and he offered to help ME learn the language if i wanted, and provided me with a video guide and a textbook pdf! way more professional feeling than using duolingo if you ask me.

at the time of writing this, i havent finished the video yet cuz i started it pretty late at night, and im so tireddddd but. BUT!! ive learned a little already! i know how to introduce myself... 私はエイダンです! thats "my name is aidan!" in english, and "watashi wa aidan desu!" in romanji. i think its very interesting how my name is split up into 4 whole characters! sure, less than english's 5 letters, but more than english's 2 syllable pronunciation. i have also learned how to talk about things i have! for instance...

私のまわるメイドンワリオです！...which translates to "this is my warioware twisted!" i dont know if theres a proper way of saying "this is my COPY OF warioware twisted," but given how japanese works, its probably already inferred. one thing i find funny about that sentence though is that there are TWO different wa characters used, わ and ワ. both pronounced the same, but theyre different characters... very odd, but intruiging!
